Terms of Service
Last updated: August 24, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and FareFare ("FareFare", "we", "us"), reachable at hello@farefare.app, and govern your use of the FareFare website, web app, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service is
FareFare parses Uber receipt emails that you provide — by uploading files or by connecting your Gmail account read-only — and presents the results as a personal spending dashboard. Parsing happens in your browser and your trip data is stored on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
FareFare is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Uber Technologies, Inc. in any way. "Uber" is a trademark of Uber Technologies, Inc., used here only to describe the receipts the Service can read.
3. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the Service. An account — created by signing in with Google — is required only for Premium and notifications. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your Google account secure. Use the Service only with a mailbox you own or are authorized to access.
4. Your data
You own your receipts and the trip data parsed from them; nothing in these Terms gives us any rights over them. Because that data is stored only in your browser and never reaches our servers:
- you are responsible for it — clearing your browser data, using "Start over", or switching devices removes it, and we cannot recover it for you;
- Premium does not include storage, backup, or syncing of trip data.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any law or of third-party rights, including Google's and Uber's terms;
- access another person's mailbox or receipts without authorization;
- probe, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- resell the Service, or misrepresent FareFare as affiliated with Uber or anyone else;
- circumvent Premium restrictions or share paid access beyond your own use.
6. Free plan and Premium
Free plan
The free plan covers your last 12 months of trips at no charge. We may adjust what the free plan includes, but we will not retroactively charge you for it.
Premium subscription
Premium unlocks additional analysis features, billed monthly or yearly at the prices shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. Prices include VAT where applicable.
- Billing and renewal. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal in the app's account menu. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you keep Premium until then.
- Price changes. If we change subscription prices, the new price applies from your next renewal at the earliest, and we will notify you in advance so you can cancel first.
- EU right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or UK, you have 14 days from purchase to withdraw without giving a reason. By requesting immediate access to Premium you consent to the service beginning right away; if you withdraw within the 14 days, we will refund you proportionally for the unused part of the period. To withdraw, email hello@farefare.app.
- Refunds. Beyond the rights above, fees are non-refundable except where required by law — but if something is broken, contact us and we will make it right.
7. Not financial, tax, or expense advice
FareFare's figures — totals, route prices, overpay estimates, savings projections, expense reports — are computed automatically from the receipts you provide. Receipts can be missing, duplicated, amended, or parsed imperfectly, and currency handling is approximate across mixed currencies. The Service is provided for informational purposes only and is not financial, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Verify the numbers against your original receipts before relying on them — especially before submitting expense reports or tax filings. Your Uber account and Uber's records remain the authoritative source of what you were charged.
8. Third-party services
Parts of the Service depend on third parties: Google (sign-in and the Gmail API), Stripe (payments), and our hosting providers. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or acts. If Google or Uber change their email formats or APIs, some features may stop working until we adapt them.
9. Intellectual property
The Service — its code, design, name, and content, excluding your data — is owned by FareFare or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.
10. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may improve, change, or discontinue features. If we discontinue Premium or a feature material to it, we will tell you in advance where reasonably possible and refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
Except as expressly stated in these Terms, and to the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. If you are a consumer, this does not affect the statutory guarantees you are entitled to under the law of your country of residence, including the conformity rights for digital services under EU law.
12. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for intent or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to that, we are liable only for damage caused by our breach of a material obligation of these Terms and foreseeable at the time of contracting, and our total liability arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of €50 and the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of trip data stored on your device, which we never possess.
13. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time; "Start over" plus revoking Gmail access and cancelling any subscription fully disconnects you. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms — where reasonable, after notice giving you a chance to fix the breach. If we terminate without cause, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period. Sections 4, 7, 9, 11, 12, and 14 survive termination.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of the country in which the FareFare operator is established. If you are a consumer, you additionally keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in its courts. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Before any formal step, email us — most issues are fixable in a day.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by notice on this page with a reasonable advance period; the date above always reflects the current version. If you do not agree with a change, stop using the Service and, if it materially affects a paid subscription, cancel it — we will refund the unused part of the period.
16. Miscellaneous
If a provision of these Terms is found invalid, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Service, without reducing your rights. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
