Guide
How much have I spent on Uber?
The Uber app will happily show you every trip you've ever taken — one at a time. What it won't show you is the total. Here are three ways to get the real number, fastest first.
1. Add up your receipt emails (about a minute)
Every Uber ride and Uber Eats order sends a receipt email, which means your inbox already contains your complete spending history. FareFare reads those receipts and turns them into a dashboard: total spend, spending by week, month, and year, your most repeated routes, and every trip in one table.
Connect Gmail read-only, or drop in an email export — either way the parsing happens entirely in your browser. Your receipts are never uploaded anywhere.
2. Request your data from Uber (days, but official)
Uber lets you download a copy of everything it knows about you:
- Open the Uber app or go to Uber's privacy center on the web.
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Download your data and submit a request.
- Uber emails you a download link — often within a day or two, though it can take longer.
- Open the trips CSV in a spreadsheet and sum the fare column yourself.
This is the most complete source (it includes trips whose receipt emails you deleted), but it's slow, and the raw CSV still leaves the adding-up to you. If you have the export, you can also read our guide to exporting your Uber trip history.
3. Scroll and add it up by hand (not recommended)
You can open Activity in the Uber app or search your bank statements for "Uber" and tally the charges. For anything more than a few months of history this gets painful fast — and bank statements mix rides, Eats, and Uber One into one blur of line items.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Uber app show your total spending?
No. The Uber app lists individual past trips under Activity, but it never adds them up. There is no lifetime or yearly total anywhere in the app.
What's the fastest way to see my total Uber spending?
Point a receipt parser at your email. Every Uber trip sends a receipt email, so your inbox already holds your complete history. FareFare reads those receipts in your browser and shows totals by week, month, and year in about a minute.
Can I get my spending history directly from Uber?
Yes. Uber's privacy center lets you request a copy of your data, including a CSV of your trips. It's complete, but delivery isn't instant and you still have to sum the numbers yourself in a spreadsheet.
